New Free Online Tools Make Accurate Mortgage Calculations a Few Clicks ...

New free on-line mortgage calculators give homebuyers detailed calculations at their finger tips. Calculations include taxes, insurance, PMI, closing cost and pre-paids for all 50 states. The perfect tool for homebuyers that are not financially savy, or lack mortgage knowledge.

(PRWEB) August 8, 2006 --Most new homebuyers have no finance background and little experience with mortgage loans, yet bank and mortgage brokers treat their online customers as expert Loan Officers. Today's online mortgage tools are completely inadequate and assume the user knows the intricacies of the mortgage business. New tools developed by The Mortgage Toolbox eliminates the 'guessing game' that occurs with those other so-called 'free sites', and allows consumers to find real answers about their home financing options.

Fallon vows to return

Kieren Fallon has vowed to return to racing stronger than ever after being hit with an 18-month worldwide ban.

The six-time champion jockey tested positive for a banned substance following a race at Deauville in August 2007, and was hit with the lengthy suspension on Friday following a hearing at France Galop's headquarters earlier in the week.

Fallon, who has already lodged an appeal, is adamant he will return to the saddle and is keen to remain positive.

He said: "It's not a tragedy - far from it. There's no doubt I'll bounce back. It's very silly of people to talk of retirement. I'm young at heart and have many years left.

"I'll use the duration of the ban to get back on track, and when I do come back I'll be stronger, both mentally and physically."

Turf legend Lester Piggott made a triumphant return to the saddle aboard Royal Academy in the Breeders' Cup Mile of 1990, just days after being released from prison at the age of 54.

China tops India again

Its a long journey which, as the Chinese say, begins with the first step.

It could take a generation, or it could take 2 generations; there are complications and there will be new ones: the point is - India will get there, and we'll get there using methods and systems that work for us and on a time-table that (like the Indian Railways) is diffecult to predict today. The most important thing, though - is that as a country we keep moving forward. In some ways we have. For example, who'd have thunk 10 years ago that a search for 'Infosys' on BW would yield over 20 pages of links? Or a seemingly incessant comparison with China, by commentators who really should know better?

Comparing which country tops the other is journalistic schtick. China is an old and wonderful country, and they have their methods and systems of development - we have ours.

Tech spending (naturally) taking a dip in 2008

General IT Management Enterprise 2.0

The New York Times reports on IDC's outlook for tech spending growth, which may fall from 7 percent in 2007 to 4 percent or less this year. The drop is not as precipitous as in 2001 when tech spending dropped more than 10 percent, gutting many companies. Most public companies can be in belt tightening modes depending on how the quarterly numbers are moving, and given the current state of the economy belt tightening is on everybody's mind.

Steve Lohr's article quotes Monte Ford, the CIO of American Airlines:

"Technology remains the best lever for getting more value from all those, making your employees more productive, making better use of your fleet and increasing your fuel efficiency."

Not all CIOs have the corporate buy-in to exercise that point of view on technology during tougher times.

Min Jin Lee Reads from 'Free Food for Millionaires'

Casey was staring at her rice bowl but didn't pick up her spoon. "Why don't you let her eat?" Leah said carefully. "She's probably tired."

"Tired? From that country club?" Joseph scoffed at the absurdity.

Leah shut up. It was useless. She knew from his face that he wouldn't hear her, nor would he let her win any points in front of the girls. Maybe Tina might say something to help the conversation along. But she looked as if she were somewhere else entirely, chewing her rice with her lips sealed. Even as a child, Tina had been a good eater.

Casey studied the white walls. Every Saturday night, it was her mother's ritual to wipe down the glossy painted walls with Fantastik.

"Why are you so tired?" Joseph asked Casey, furious that she was ignoring him.
